Act before the scheduled departure

If you know you cannot take the booked flight, contact the ticketing source as early as possible. Waiting until after departure can change how the ticket is handled and may trigger no-show rules.

Same-day change is not the same for every ticket

Some fares or airlines may allow a same-day change or standby option, while other tickets may require a normal voluntary reissue. Eligibility, timing windows and fees vary by fare and airline.

Availability and fare differences matter

Even when another flight has seats, the original booking class may not be available. A different flight can require repricing, a fare difference, taxes or an applicable change charge.

Connections and international itineraries
