International itineraries can be complex
International tickets may combine multiple flights, booking classes, carriers or fare components. A seemingly simple date change can require repricing of the unflown itinerary.
Rebooking after travel has started
Once one or more flight coupons have been used, the ticket becomes partially used. Different after-departure rules may apply to the remaining flights.
Codeshare and partner flights
If an itinerary includes marketing and operating carriers, confirm which company issued the ticket and which carrier operates each flight. The ticketing source can determine what can be changed within the fare rules.
Prepare alternatives
For urgent rebooking, have preferred dates plus one or two acceptable alternatives. Premium cabins and long-haul flights may have limited availability in the required booking class.
